, b. 1966

Lorenzo, son of the renowned actor Anthony Quinn, spent his formative years between Italy and the USA. His educational journey led him to the American Academy of the Fine Arts in New York, where he delved into acting briefly before shifting his focus to sculpture. His transition to sculpture proved immensely fruitful, marked by significant commissions such as The Tree of Life, a masterpiece crafted for the United Nations and later featured on a 1993 stamp. Another milestone was the creation of a Saint Anthony likeness for the Basilica del Santo in Padua, a work blessed by the Pope amidst a gathering of 35,000 attendees in 1994. Noteworthy among his recent endeavors is the unveiling of his 'Give' sculpture at the Uffizi Gardens in Florence in August 2020. A generous contribution from both the artist and our sister gallery, Halcyon Gallery, it now graces the International Sculpture Park in Pietrasanta, Italy. The sculpture portrays a man's hand joining with a woman's, symbolizing the profound significance of giving. Its message resonates peace and addresses humanity, encapsulated by the imagery of an olive tree. Lorenzo finds particular pride in sculpting the intricacies of the human hand, considering it the most technically challenging part of the body. To him, hands symbolize the incredible potency wielded by humans, capable of influencing both individual lives and the collective human experience. He articulates, "The hand encapsulates immense power: the power to love, create, hate, and destroy.
