Miles MacGregor, known as El Mac, draws inspiration from both European artistic traditions and the Mexican and Chicano art that surrounded him during his upbringing in Los Angeles. In the 1990s, El Mac began his artistic journey by creating public murals and graffiti throughout L.A. Today, his impressive large-scale murals can be found worldwide. In addition to murals, El Mac's oeuvre includes striking portrait paintings crafted with acrylics or aerosol. His notable contributions to the art world have been recognized by prestigious institutions: he has created pieces for the Groeninge Museum, and his works are part of the permanent collections at the San José Museum of Art, Northeastern University, the University of California San Diego, Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, and Fondazione Prada.
